Hoegaarden Le Fruit Défendu is a Belgian strong dark ale, deep ruby-brown with aromas of plum, fig, caramel and warm spice. The palate is smooth and full, layering dark fruit and malt sweetness before a gently bitter, warming finish. A rich after-dinner ale, excellent with dark chocolate, braised meats or strong cheese.
